Information About the Sessions #
Venue: INESC TEC, Auditorium A and B
Details:
- Each student will have 10 minutes to present their research project, followed by a 20-minute discussion.
- To enhance networking and discussion, each PhD student will analyse one research project from a colleague and provide feedback with improvement suggestions and comments (according to the agenda available here).
PhD Colloquium aims #
Encourage constructive discussion with PhD students from institutions worldwide. In addition, to promote a debate focused on the contribution of the research carried out by PhD students, including research topics, the development of research proposals, and the conduct of research. Moreover, it stimulates networking between young and senior researchers and promotes collaboration and knowledge exchange, bringing new and talented researchers closer to the IAMOT community.
Who we encourage to apply #
To talented young researchers to apply from institutions worldwide with a well-defined research plan, preferably approved by the institution. Moreover, that work covers a topic aligned with the conference theme and topics.
Proposal guidelines #
Proposals are not papers and should clearly state the research problem, the methodological approach, planned or in execution, and the expected outputs and contributions to the field of study. In addition:
- It should fit the IAMOT Conference 2024 theme and topics;
- It should be written in English and developed in the provided template;
- Length: from 6-8 pages - including mini bio, abstract, and references;
- File Format: PDF.

Selection criteria #
- Fit within conference theme and topics;
- Quality of research problem;
- Theoretical and methodological rigor;
- Contribution to the field of study;
- Writing quality;
- Compliance with the proposal guidelines.

Fees #
- 330 EUR, including the participation in the main conference
- The best proposals will be granted free registration.
